Construction Of Missions

There are many projects still going and we have some photo updates for you!

We praise God for the loving support that has been shown for the Mexican saints! These constructions are significant changes for these peoples, but please remember they are only the beginning. They give the people a place to seek the Lord and to receive instruction from mighty men of God.

They Can't Stay Still

Pastors Benny & Hope and Pastor Velotta will be taking a group again on June 16, 2007. This will be the fifth trip for Pastor Benny in as many months and there will be trips in July and August as well!

In Memoriam - Lupito Oviedo

New Hope Missions has lost a friend with the passing of Lupito Oviedo. As you can see at left, he was still a young man who has left behind a wife as well as both children and grandchildren.

He was the assistant pastor to his father, Rito who pastors the church in San Marcos at the foot of New Hope Mountain, which they had named for our ministry.

Brother Lupito died Tuesday, May 8, 2007 from complications resulting from being struck in the head with a baseball while playing a game several weeks before.

At the orphanage in San Vincente, we are helping to expand the boys dormitory, pictured below. front and back at left. At right is the chapel on the premises for the children to worship.
Pastor Lolo in San Pablo has completed the ceiling in "Sinai" church.

"Lirios De Los Valles," The Lily of the Valley in La Presita is literally being carved into the mountainside. The stones being used in construction are carved by hand from the mountain and the church is being built into the space being carve out as they go!
Nueva Esperanza, "New Hope Church," in San Urbio has made progress. Walls have been constructed and trusses are hung.

The Dedication of The Church of the Brotherhood, "Templo La Hermosa"

Pastor Reyes Pineda and his wife, Anna (second photo above) invited Pastor Benny and Pastor Patti Velotta to cut the ribbon at the dedication ceremony. The group photo is Pastors Benny and Hope at left, Pastor Rejino Ramirez, director of our Mexican missions, at center and Pastor Patti Velotta, Calvary Way International Fellowship, at right.

This was followed by a procession of praise to honor God for his provision.

La Hermosa in Saltillo is pastored by Reyes Pineda. They have had a building for some time, but have struggled with their roof. Here we see them completing their roof.
Pastor Chavelo Isabel pastors a church in La Presita.

Here they are building a new construction under the direction of Rejino Ramirez, director of our Mexican mission.

Here, there was a small church named New Hope when we were called into San Urbio. Pastor Santos sought help to build a larger chapel that would fit all of their people. Look what they are building now!

Mission Trips to Mexico 2005

This is the group that went on our youth missions trip in June this year. Here they are at Ohare waiting for their flight out. Our first night in Mexico was spent at Voz De Hubilo (Voice of Jubilee) pastored by Rejino Ramirez. Minister Donnell Colbert of Christian Faith Fellowship Church preached and Pastor Benny interpreted.

The Orphanage in San Vincente, Nuevo Leon

Sister Rosita (R) is the director of the orphanage, here, with Pastor Benny and Mother Hope.

Their onsite place of worship

The pictures surrounding this frame show the existing structures of a two bedroom home with an attached oven room for baking (pictured with Sister Rosita's mother who helps her with the orphanage), an outhouse and a storage shed. The new building was already started when we first came to the orphange, but had no roof. The construction there is often adobe covered with a coat of concrete. The photo below is the stick roof that covers the old ovenroom.

A 2004 service with one of our groups.

The building is now nearly completed. The black tank on the roof is a water holding tank. A hose from a propane tank outside comes through the window to fuel the stove. While the outhouse still has its use, (interior, L, exterior, upper R) the new building offers a modern bath that may rival your own.
Gardens have been started to help provide vegetables. Sister Rosita shows a new bedroom (R). Some of the orphans take a moment to pose with one of our youth leaders. Later, they drew some of our kids into a little volleyball.

The church in Santa Rita, Nuevo Leon

Pastor Benny and Mother Hope with Pastor Lupito and his family. Pastor Lupito standing amidst some of the children of the congregation. There are over two hundred children in their small community.
Mother Hope with Pastor Rejino and his wife Ester. Youth Pastor Donnell Colbert of Christian Faith Fellowship Church of  Zion, IL was our featured speaker on this trip and Pastor Benny would interpret.
The elderesses of the congregation sang several songs to welcome the missionaries.
Gifts of tablets, pens, pencils, safety pins, small toys and candy were distributed to overwhelming crowds. After a long day, there were a few group shots and farewells.

The Church in San Pablo, Nuevo Leon

The road to San Pablo, about 8 miles off the highway into the desert. Double click on this one to see what was coming right at us.

Above is the interior and exterior of the church as we arrived. The youth helped to remove fabric stapled to the rafters to make way for a finished ceiling.
After the work, Pastor Lolo invited us to his home for lunch and while there, some of our youth had the new experience of riding a horse.
After an afternoon service in Tanque Nueve, we returned to San Pablo for an evening service. Here you can see that the boards are up at the front of the sanctuary.

The Church in Tanque Nueve, Nuevo Leon

To the left are photos of construction of a sanctuary and an oven house begun in 2004. The church building had been completed when we arrived June, 2005 and the oven house had been roofed. These structures are made of adobe and are roofed with wood.

Tanque Nueve is about 14 miles into the desert off the highway.

The ladies of Tanque Nueve sing hymns for us in the new sanctuary.
The interior of the oven house. There are two ovens in front and the left one has already been blackened with use.
The oven house also doubles as a room for children's ministry during service.

A moment of rest in Galeana

The youth traveling with us showed exceptional character and were well received.

The Church in San Marcos, Nuevo Leon

This mountain had no name, yet after we began sermons on the mount several years ago, the locals now call it New Hope Mountain.
Pastor Rito leads the congregation in song.

The Church in Saltillo, Coahuila - La Hermosa

Pastor Donnell leads some of his youth in prophetic song. Someone snuck up on Pastor Benny with an accordion and asked him to play. Though he may try, he cannot refuse.  Later someone brought him a guitar.
Here it can be seen that this building is not finished. The roof on this building has been leaking and they have now received some help to resolve this so the building may be completed.
